So, on Saturday I finally gave in and bought a new camera, the Canon EOS 400D Digital Rebel XTi. Last week my dad used my little point-and-shoot (Canon A430), and whined about it being soooo slow in the low light of a military drill hall. So, I one-upped him and bought the dSLR, since he has a high-end amateur point-and-shoot.

Anyway, I played around with it this weekend, going after Stacey and the one cat I could get to sit still. I also joined my dad and his girlfriend on a light hike yesterday and played with it there. I added a few shots from the trip, if they get good feedback I might add a few more. The only issue I found was that because it was very sunny, some of the shots were a bit washed out, but then again, the natural colour was washed out because of the sun. I can't wait to start playing around more with manual settings, I was basically just getting a feel for the presets that the camera has.

So, yeah, expect to see a lot of photography, more of that than any other of my various artistic pursuits - with an infant, getting a few photos is a lot easier than sitting down to do a piece of art or complete a textile item.
